Danish Kennel Club (DKK) Supports FCI at Latest Board Meeting
DKK says in its decision that the membership in FCI offers far more advantages than disadvantages for Danish dog sport, and the consequences of a withdrawal will be too big for their members.
Based on the possible consequences for the sport has DKK chosen to give its support to FCI. NKK is not willing to negotiate dog welfare against international titles, and just as we have now taken a clear stance in connection with WDS in China and dog welfare, should our members be sure that we are going to do our part to safeguard their interests also if it becomes necessary, says Hage.
DKK find nevertheless NKKs proposals for the forthcoming Europe Section meeting points and that they look forward to this debate, and they also want to establish a working group up to the next General Assembly in 2017 looking at the distribution of votes within the FCI.
Together with Sweden and Finland constitute Norway 25% of FCI income, so our presence in FCI is by no means without importance to the organization, despite the fact that we only make up 3.3% of the votes at the general meeting. We believe we have thus good negotiation opportunities should be required. But first and foremost we work now for a change of FCI statutes to improve dog welfare worldwide, says Hage
