Crufts 2013 – About The Judges
By Kerry L Rushby
Frank showed his first dog, a cocker spaniel whilst still at school and he has been involved in the dog world ever since. Whilst at university, he co-owned two Sealyham terriers who gained their titles. In 1970 he established his Hirontower affix with his foundation bitches in American cockers and went on to produce a string of champions at home and overseas.
He first awarded challenge certificates in 1974 and is now approved to award CCs in over 100 breeds across all groups. He judges all groups and Best In Show at Championship shows and only last year judged Best In Show at Crufts.
The author and co-author of three books and a frequent contributor to the canine press, Frank will be having a busy show as he is part of the More 4 and Channel 4 television commentary team.
Frank is also a member of the KC General Committee and chairman of the Breed Standards sub-committee.
Outside the dog world his main interest lies in the horse world with show hacks, hunters and children’s riding ponies being his special interest.
