Recently, we took a trip out to the lovely market town of Marlborough in the county of Wiltshire.
If I were to ask the average American to draw or describe a quintessentially English town, they would most probably conjure up an image exactly like this gorgeous place crammed full of fascinating, centuries-old buildings set amidst verdant green, rolling countryside.
Whilst Marc grabbed a coffee, I sat outside with Ralph (our new Miniature Dachshund) and prepared myself for the deluge of attention that inevitably comes with having a cheeky Dachshund pup sitting on your lap!
After a parade of people of all ages, shapes and sizes had passed by, many of them stopping for a quick pat or cuddle (with Ralph…not me!) along came a rather buxom older lady, and well, you know how one makes those little judgments in your head about people (or is that just me?)
I immediately thought to myself, ‘school ma’am’ and, do you know what, that’s exactly what she turned out to be!
