After a whirlwind week in New York City to attend Progressive Dog Club, Westminster Kennel Club, a few parties, and Canine Chronicle activities–like everyone else, I came home invigorated. There are no words to fully describe how all the events surrounding Westminster were full of joy, frenzy, renewal, and success. Finally, after 5 years away from New York City, the return was a triumph. Javits in the daytime, Madison Square Garden at night–this is exactly what wine connoisseurs would call ‘a perfect pairing’. If you were concerned about returning to Manhattan this year, do not hesitate in 2026.
For all of the energy, effort, thought, and consideration that went into the events surrounding Westminster, be grateful. Many of us tested the water this year. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We can only imagine how much better it will be for the 150th! Nearby hotel space continues to open up every month. Restaurants at all price points abound. Transportation in all forms is readily available. Why not come? It’s something to contemplate.

Since it’s more fun to invite friends to share a variety of dishes, that Sunday eight of us had a minor feast. We started with wonton soup, spare ribs, egg rolls, and spring rolls. Then we moved onto General Tso’s chicken, shrimp in lobster sauce, orange chicken, mushroom egg foo young, and sam gai tai (look it up!). Two more dishes, Singapore Chow Mei Fun and eggplant with garlic sauce were my choices. That’s a lot of food!
