Octavia Stensen Wins Best Junior Handler At The AKC National Championship Junior Showmanship Competition
The American Kennel Club (AKC®) is pleased to announce that Octavia Stensen with her Norwegian Buhund GCHB CH Cultiva Cruisin For A Bruisin was awarded the coveted title of Best Junior Handler along with a $5,000 scholarship. The Junior Showmanship competition, for handlers between 9 to 18 years of age, was held for the 23rdyear at the AKC® National Championship Presented by Royal Canin on Saturday, December 16th, 2023. Preliminaries were judged by Jennie Hynes and Kasey O’Brien. The Finals were judged by Dr. Adam Stafford King.
Junior handlers must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 or equivalent for the September 2022 – June 2023 school year in order to compete. Scholarships from the American Kennel Club were awarded as follows: First – $5,000; Second – $4,000; Third – $3,000; Fourth – $2,000.
