Mercedes the German Shepherd Wins Herding Group At The 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

The German Shepherd of Bethesda, MD handled by Kent Boyles and co-owned by Cynthian Wilhelmy and Sheree Moses won the Herding Group under judge Ms. Janina K. Laurin of Ashford, CT, at the 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show presented by Purina Pro Plan held at Madison Square Garden, “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” on Monday, February 10.

Mercedes, a 5-year-old female officially known as GCHP CH Kaleef’s Mercedes, took top honors among the 34 dogs entered in the Herding Group. Westminster sees over 2,500 entries in conformation, with two days of Best of Breed judging from Monday, February 10 – Tuesday, February 11 held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, culminating with the Group and Best in Show competitions at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
