From Fact to Fiction. New Children’s Book Inspired By a Real Dog
Debra Lampert-Rudman is well known as a ceramic artist and owner of champion show dogs, now one of those dogs has inspired her first venture as an author and illustrator.
Iris the Architect is a delightful story for ages 3 and up, beautifully illustrated with Debra’s own watercolours. The book tells the tale of Iris, born to be a champion show dog and follow in the footsteps of the rest of her family.
Mama is distressed when Iris doesn’t seem to be taking the matter seriously and regularly misses out on first place. Something is amiss as Iris tells Mama that she will practice harder, take more baths and eat up her veggies, but still doesn’t win the best in show!
More than anything, Iris wants to draw, seeing a competition in the paper to create the perfect house for homeless dogs, Iris is determined to win. This is what she wants to do, more than anything.
With an uplifting ‘happy ending’ of Iris winning the competition and having her design built, not only does she make her dreams come true, she also makes Mama proud. She really is the best!
Perfect for early readers to follow or to be read aloud, Iris the Architect will entrance all ages, and especially those that love dogs, with an enjoyable tale and plenty to discover in the illustrations.
Iris the Architect is published by FBS Publishing Ltd, an independent publisher based in England, UK. It is available for worldwide distribution in retail outlets and online including Barnes and Noble and Amazon. The book is available in both hardback and paperback editions. $15.99/$10.99.
