Table Talk
I spent the last several days in Tucson, Arizona at the Coyote Cluster. For many exhibitors, this is the middle of several consecutive weeks of shows in Arizona. A lot of folks will be moving to Chandler for the Fiesta Cluster this week. This cluster exchanged their March dates for November and moved their shows from WestWorld in Scottsdale to the Indian Reservation in Chandler, Arizona. The next stop after that for many will be the Yuma shows. This girl is going home to spend Thanksgiving with family and attend the OSU/Michigan game…GO BUCKS!!!
This past week on the other side of the country, and closer to my home, was the circuit in Columbus, Ohio. This was another well-attended cluster with entries topping 2000 dogs on the weekend. The reports from those I talked to claimed the circuit was wonderful. Congratulations for a job well done by all involved!
One sad note from the show was that Johann Emedi was bitten at this circuit and experienced facial injuries. He reports that he is on the mend, however. Get well soon, Johann!
I was saddened to hear that our dog show family has lost another long-time family member: Roberta Campbell passed away suddenly from a stroke. Mrs. Campbell was a breeder and handler with her late husband, the famous terrier handler Seth Campbell. Please join us in wishing Roberta’s family and friends most sincere condolences on her loss.
We also are sad to report the passing of Pat Mowbray-Morgan this past Saturday. Most remember Pat as a judge of Sporting, Hound, Working, and Herding Breeds.
Celebrating birthdays this week are Ray Harrington, Jeff Lawrence, Elizabeth Salewsky and Tami Luddeke.
I would like to wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to our dog show community. If you are spending time with family, please enjoy. If you are spending time with your dog show family, please enjoy that, too!
For those of you attending the Holiday Cluster in Costa Mesa, or the shows in Orlando, I’ll see you there!
Wherever your travels take you, please be safe, hug your dogs, hug your family and tell them all you love them. Don’t forget to drop me a line about special trips, anniversaries or other news you think may be of interest to your dog fancy family.
Until next time…
