Calling All Creative Kids! AKC National Art Contest Entries Open Now
The American Kennel Club (AKC®), a not-for-profit organization, the world’s largest purebred dog registry and leading advocate for dogs, is excited to announce its second National Art Contest, hosted by AKC Public Education. The AKC National Art Contest is open to all young artists ages 5 to 18 and provides an opportunity to celebrate a love of dogs through creative expression.
The theme for the 2025 AKC National Art Contest is “Dog Shows.” Artists are invited to interpret this theme creatively, showcasing their unique perspectives through drawings, paintings, and mixed media. The artwork will be organized into four age brackets and judged based on creativity, alignment to the theme, and picture quality. Four finalists and a winner will be selected within each age bracket, and an online exhibition will showcase the talents of these young artists. In addition, the winning artwork will also be displayed at the AKC Museum of the Dog in New York City, allowing visitors from across the country to see the winning pieces in person.
Entries are open and will close on September 29, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST. For a printable flyer or contest inquiries, contact AKC Public Education at publiced@akc.org.
