This article has been researched from various other writings. It is important to make people aware of what can happen when your dog bloats. I thank those who have written about this horrible health hazard before me.

There’s good news and bad news when it comes to gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), also known as bloat or stomach torsion.

The good news: Some 80% of dogs with GDV that receive prompt treatment survive and thrive.

The bad news: Dogs with GDV who do not receive treatment will not survive.
