AKC Museum of the Dog hosts its second annual Paws on Parade
The AKC Museum of the Dog is thrilled to announce its second annual Paws on Parade, happening Saturday, September 23rd at Bryant Park from 11 AM to 3:30PM.
The event will feature collective art making, fun photo opportunities, dog awards, food and drink vendors all culminating in a celebratory march around the park. There will also be demonstrations from the NYPD K9 Transit Bureau and live performances by the band, Susan Said.
“We are very excited to continue this event with Bryant Park for a second year in a row as we were able to welcome over 200 dogs to last year’s parade,” said Sarah Moshenberg, the AKC Museum of the Dog’s Manager of Learning & Engagement. “We lined up some spectacular dog-themed activities everyone can enjoy this year. The piece I’m most excited for, is that Bryant Park will allow leashed dogs on the lawn for just this one day.”
The schedule of Paws on Parade is as follows:
11:00AM – Food & Drink vendors open
12:30PM – AKC Museum of the Dog check-in opens
1:30PM – Parade around the park begins
2:30PM – Presentation from the NYPD K9 Transit Bureau starts
The event is free and open to everyone but participation in the parade requires pre-registration of your dog. All registrants will receive a special item from the Museum and the first 100 participants to check in will receive a swag bag from the Museum. Spectators without dogs are welcome to attend and enjoy the parade as well. Participants can register here.
A rain date has been scheduled for Sunday, September 24th.
