The American Kennel Club is pleased to announce that Daryl Hendricks has been hired as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective January 5, 2013. He will begin employment on November 12, 2012.

“Daryl brings a broad business management background to AKC, with extensive experience managing large teams in operational settings and handling budgetary responsibilities,” said Dennis B. Sprung, AKC President and CEO. “The American Kennel Club is proud to welcome him as its new COO.”

Hendricks comes to AKC from Iron Mountain Corporation, an information management services company, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President. As SVP, he was the strategic operational and customer relationship leader for the company’s Central Area, with six territories ranging from North Dakota to the Caribbean, and also oversaw the global subsidiary Intellectual Property Management, Inc.

He has held past leadership positions at Aramark Corporation, Kellogg’s Snacks Division, The Wackenhut Corporation and Professional Asset Management Group, and served as State Trooper with the Delaware State Police. Hendricks earned his MBA from Wilmington University in 1998.

Hendricks and his wife Michelle own English Cocker Spaniels, including an AKC conformation Champion. They will relocate to Raleigh from Mundelein, Illinois, a Chicago suburb.
