There are some days when everything about life with dogs seems to be in total harmony. There isn’t one clinker to provide a single note of dissonance to a perfect melody.
This past summer, my husband and I took our first vacation with no work and no dogs in five years. Much needed, we met up with my family in Breckenridge, Colorado.
Issues raised by the Pointer protest invited an avalanche of opinionated advice long before social media facilitated this unsavory process. In other words, it was a non-stop global embarrassment for the American purebred fancy–especially those big players with a major stake in the game–and there were quite a few by then.
Doctor Thomas Burger had no prior experience in dog breeding. He and his wife, planning on retirement, decided to breed and raise Afghan hounds, finding that top hounds can command sales prices of several thousands of dollars.
A new competitor for purebred dog breeders emerged some years ago. Heralding a new century, new achievements & new habits.
Another Westminster is in the books. Another Westminster winner has been crowned. Dogdom celebrated the crown jewel of our sport with all the reverie it richly deserves.
