I’ve been writing for many years now and, as a commentator, I quickly learned to grow a thick skin. You have to since not everyone showers you with platitudes; in fact, quite often the opposite happens and you and your ideas are ridiculed and attacked.

But as long as the response is measured and doesn’t stray too far into a personal onslaught, I’m fine with it.

In fact, I quite welcome it. I don’t write to make friends or to be admired. I simply write from the heart.

And sometimes I’ve been wrong. We live and learn.
