New FCI Committee

Prior to the World Dog Show this year which took place in Budapest, Hungary, Delegates from all FCI countries had a week long itinerary of subjects to discuss. For some months the dog community have been informed of the retirement of the FCI President, Mr Hans Muller. Hans became a member of the FCI in 1983, from 1999 Hans was elected as General Committee of the FCI and has been the President for 27 years. His predecessor, Rafael De Santiago from Puerto Rico was elected by delegates and members to become the next FCI President in which he was appointed in Budapest, prior to the World Show. Rafael has been a member of the FCI since 1999, he is also the President of the Federacion Canofila de Puerto Rico and previously Treasurer of the FCI.

There were three FCI General Committee posts up for election at this years General Assembly in Budapest and the two retiring members, Gerard Jipping (Netherlands) and Tamas Jakkel (Hungary) were re-elected. The third position was filled by Carla Molinari (Portugal) President of the Portuguese Kennel Club). The other three elected members of the FCI General Committee are Kari Jarvinen (Finland), Stefan Stefik (Slovakia), and the new President, Rafael De Santiago (Puerto Rico)

Also in the same week, delegates voted for the World Dog Show in 2017 to take place in Ecuador, and World Dog Show in 2018 to take place in Holland (Netherlands)
