After the AKC National Championship in Orlando, Florida on December 18 and 19, the Canine Chronicle asked the Group and Best In Show judges for their comments. This show is well-known for its recognition of breeders and owner-handlers through its Bred-by-Exhibitor Best In Show competition and National Owner-Handled Series finals, as well as its junior showmanship finals. The judges of those events were also asked for their comments.
The Sporting Group
Beth Sweigart of Bowmansville, Pennsylvania called judging the Sporting Group at the AKC National Championship “an honor and a pleasure.” She continued, “The quality of the dogs in this group was outstanding—kudos to the judges who sent them to the group! The final four placements were outstanding.”

“The German Wirehaired Pointer was one of my favorites, and on the night, she did not disappoint. She is so correct in every way, and on the night, she owned the ring.”

GCHS Kan Trace Very Cheeky Chic (Lagotto Romagnolo)

Owned by: Victor Malzoni, Jr., Sabina Zdunic Šinkovic & Ante Lucin
“The Lagotto is another lovely bitch. I have loved her since I first saw her at the Crufts Dog Show, going second to the Reserve Best In Show winner. She was presented here beautifully, and she moved with ease.”
