AKC Judge Bradley Ryan Child • April 5, 1954 ~ July 2, 2013
I was born April 5, 1954 to Castle and LaRae Child. Would that most could be so fortunate as I. I was twice blessed in finding the great love of my life, and soul mate. I married Karen Mitchell Child on February 7, 1987. My run ended July 2, 2013 due to complications arising during my 4th open heart surgery. But it was a great run. I was told early in life I had a “bum ticker” and decided come what may, to grab life by its throat and let no moss grow beneath me. I so tried to read it all and see it all. I learned of that special love for animals at my father’s feet. Karen’s arrival in my life drove that love to a passion I relished. I had my best friend and my soul mate by my side. Their constant love an support gave me my passport to travel the world.
I was, maybe I still am, a Master Judge, but more importantly I was a husband and companion, son, brother, uncle, and I tried to be that friend that so many were to me. I hope I remembered to tell each of you how important you were to me and how much I loved each of you.
I was preceded in death by my mother, LaRae. I’m survived by my great love and soul mate, Karen, best friend and father, Cass, loving sister, Vickie (Kurt), adored niece, Adrien (Michael), loved nephew, Tyson (Adrienne), and wondrous grandniece, Madison.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 20th, at 3:00 p.m. Please contact Karen or family member for further details.
In lieu of flowers, there has been established a fund at US Bank in the name of Bradley Ryan Child.
