Portrait of 2015 Best in Show Winner to be Presented at Crufts

The portrait of last year’s Best in Show winner, Ch McVan’s to Russia with Love (Knopa) will be unveiled on Sunday 13th March at Crufts 2016. Artist Paul Doyle will present the painting to the Chairman of the Kennel Club Arts Foundation, Tom Mather.

This will be the third year that world renowned canine artist Paul Doyle has been commissioned to paint a portrait of the Crufts Best in Show winner. Speaking of his latest work, Paul from North Lincolnshire said: “I wanted to recreate the moment of Knopa winning Crufts and the electric atmosphere of the world’s greatest dog show.
With Crufts celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, it seemed apt to feature the Keddell Memorial Trophy, the most iconic and coveted trophy in the canine world. The painting is mixed media and the mediums used for the picture are coloured pencil and acrylic paint.”

The portrait will be presented on the Sunday evening of the show in the main arena before going on display at the Kennel Club offices alongside the rest of the Art Foundation’s collection. Paul will be displaying more of his work during Crufts in Hall 2, at the Sally Mitchell Fine Arts stand.
