Air Canada Cargo Adds to Brachycephalic Breed Embargo List

Canadian Kennel Club Press Release

Air Canada Cargo has recently introduced an embargo on brachycephalic dog breeds which prohibits select breeds from travelling as cargo, noting that brachycephalic breeds may continue to travel in the cabin with passengers. Air Canada Cargo expanded its brachycephalic breed embargo list as of August 28th 2015 and you can review the revised list here.

CKC has been in discussion with Air Canada Cargo officials and has offered CKC members’ significant expertise, insight and impartiality to any process that Air Canada Cargo works through to establish criteria for shipping live animals. CKC will encourage Air Canada Cargo to reassess its list of brachycephalic dog breeds and ensure CKC members are well informed as we move forward.

For more information about live shipping with Air Canada Cargo, visit AC Live by clicking here. If you have questions or suggestions, please contact CKC at information@ckc.ca.
