Ah-h-h-h . . . the “good ol’ days” of dog shows past!

- Thank you Bernadette Cox for the Memories!

Around 1978, when the K.C. OF BEVERLY HILLS was still at the SPORTS ARENA . . . . Joseph Wambaugh came to the dog show to sign copies of his book . . . THE BLACK MARBLE. He was there because this story was all about OLD PASADENA , the privileged folks who showed their dogs . . . . and the theft of the BIS dog from the WESTMINSTER K.C. show.

I stood in line with literally hundreds of folks to get a signed copy . . . which I did. And, after several moves with dogs and horses . . . . I have lost it. I think I’m going to find another copy.

Stephen King has mentioned that Joseph Wambaugh was one of his favorites, too.

This book was also made into a movie. Joseph Wambaugh has won many awards . . . and has also written THE ONION FIELD, and the THE BLUE KNIGHT. He retired from the LAPD and I believe is in his 80′s now.
