Golden Retriever owners across the country are invited to apply to participate in the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study, the largest and longest observational study ever undertaken to improve the health of dogs. Morris Animal Foundation, the nonprofit organization running the study, will enroll 3,000 Golden Retrievers over the next two years.

The dog fancy is mourning the passing of the top winning Bichon in breed history and 2001 Westminster Best In Show winner Champion Special Times’ Just. He was with his loving handler, Scott Sommer, at the time of his death. Scott confirmed that he passed away peacefully.

We often overlook the multiplicity of amazing enterprises that spring up around shows, and the creativity that is regularly inspired by this constant display of beautiful dogs. G&G Studios has been a familiar presence at shows for more than three decades. And a piece by Virginia Perry Gardiner represented the supreme indulgence to celebrate a favorite dog or commemorate a remarkable win. On September 10 Virginia succumbed to her long battle with cancer at age 67.
