Winners Crowned at the American Kennel Club National Agility Championship

New York, N.Y. – Eleven AKC® National Agility Champions were crowned this weekend at the American Kennel Club® (AKC®) National Agility Championship, held at the Reno Livestock Events Center in Reno, Nevada. The Championship, sponsored by J & J Dog SuppliesMAX 200M.A.D. Agility and Voyce, drew a combined entry of more than 1,000 of the fastest and more agile dogs in the nation.

“Congratulations to our new National Champions and class winners,” said Carrie DeYoung, AKC Director of Agility. “This event drew the top agility competitors in the country and we’re proud to celebrate the accomplishments of these talented dogs and dedicated handlers.”

AKC NATIONAL AGILITY CHAMPIONSHIP

Agility, AKC’s fastest-growing canine sport that hit over 1.23 million entries in 2014, provides fun and exercise and strengthens the bond between dog and handler. Dogs demonstrate their agile nature and versatility by following cues from the handler through a timed obstacle course of jumps, tunnels, weave poles and other objects.

AKC NATIONAL AGILITY CHAMPIONS

Placing first in their height division (8″, 12″, 16″, 20″, 24” and 26″ respectively) were:

8” – MACH Mad Dash Beyond Belief MX MXB MXJ MJB XF (Torment), a Papillon handled by Janet Dunn of Hollister, California
12” – NAC MACH3 Jahdo Skechers At Strathspey MXG MJC MXF T2B2 (Skecher), a Shetland Sheepdog handled by Barb Davis of Newman Lake, Washington
16” – MACH On Target’s Off On Makin’ It Hot HSAs MXB MJB XF T2B (Spice), a Border Collie handled by Cynthia Hornor of Ellicott City, Maryland
20” – Solar Hops for Joy RN MX MXJ XF T2B (Hops), a Border Collie handled by Sarah Baker of Bonney Lake, Washington
24” – Sagehill Silver Lining MX MXB MXJ MJB NF CGC (Gromit), a Border Collie handled by Maria Badamo of Midlothian, Texas
26” – NAC MACH2 Tempo in Motion MXS MJG MXF T2B (Pace), a Border Collie handled by Desiree Snelleman of Bonney Lake, Washington

AKC PREFERRED NATIONAL AGILITY CHAMPIONS

Placing first in their height divisions (4”, 8”, 12”, 16” and 20” respectively) were:

8” – MACH7 PACH2 Valley View Wishes Come True MXG2 MJG2 MXPB MJPB PAX OF T2B (Dani), a Shetland Sheepdog handled by Susan Leitner of Vancouver, Washington
12” – MACH2 Tern’s Isabella Tess MXS MJS MXP MJP XF T2B CGC (Bella), a Border Collie handled by Erin J. Knotek of Moose Pass, Alaska
16” – NAC MACH3 Hob Nob Classic Tower Of Power UD MXB2 MJC MXP MJP T2B (Steeple), a Border Collie handled by Kim Terrill of Albuquerque, New Mexico
20” – MACH2 PACH Mtn. Star’s Mr. Mellow RE MXG MJC MXPB MJP3 MJPB PAX MXF T2B (Rice), a Labrador Retriever handled by Sarah Baker of Bonney Lake, Washington
