The American Kennel Club Promotes Sandra D’Andrea To Field Director of Conformation
New York, NY—The American Kennel Club (AKC®) is pleased to announce that Sandra D’Andrea has been promoted to Field Director of Conformation effective September 1, 2021. In her new role, she will be responsible for managing the field staff at conformation events. Sandra joined the AKC in November 2012 as an Executive Field Representative based in the Buffalo, New York area.
“We are very happy to promote Sandra to Field Director of Conformation,” said Timothy Thomas, Vice President of Judging Operations for AKC. “Her experience as a successful breeder, handler and show chairperson made her a valuable addition to the Conformation Field Staff and will continue to serve her well in her new responsibilities.”
D’Andrea assumes the position of Field Director of Conformation from Patricia Proctor. Proctor has spent decades dedicated to the sport of purebred dogs as a successful breeder/exhibitor, owner, and professional handler prior to joining the AKC staff. She began her career with AKC in July 2007 as an Executive Field Representative and in 2012 was promoted to Senior Executive Field Representative and later to Field Director, Conformation, overseeing the Conformation Field Staff. During the years her responsibilities also included serving as a Field Director for AKC’s Registered Handlers Program and serving on the Judges Review Committee. Patti recently announced her retirement from the AKC effective August 31, 2021.
