AKC Canine Health Foundation Announces Support for 25th Anniversary Endowment Campaign

The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) announces support for its 25th Anniversary Endowment Campaign. The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), the Dalmatian Club of America Foundation (DCAF), Jeffrey G. Pepper, and Dr. & Mrs. William Truesdale have each contributed or pledged $25,000 or more to CHF’s endowment fund.

CHF and its Board of Directors wish to recognize the support of these long-time donors who understand the importance of a sustainable future for canine health research. Since CHF’s founding in 1995, the OFA has contributed more than $560,000 for research and education grants and canine health projects. The DCAF has provided more than $400,000 to improve our understanding of health concerns specific to Dalmatians and those relevant to all dogs. Mr. Pepper and Dr. and Mrs. Truesdale have a combined 45 years of financial support for CHF. By contributing to CHF’s endowment fund, these organizations and individuals demonstrate their commitment to improving the health of current and future generations of dogs.

“The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals has considered the AKC Canine Health Foundation a valued partner since its inception,” says OFA Chief Operating Officer, Eddie Dziuk. “While we continue to sponsor current research efforts, supporting the endowment fund guarantees continued support for canine health research long into the future.  We are pleased to be a part of this new long-range initiative.”

“The Dalmatian Club of America Foundation (DCAF), also celebrating our 25th anniversary, is proud to participate in the AKC Canine Health Foundation’s 25th Anniversary Endowment Fund Campaign,” says DCAF President, Toni Linstedt. “The mission of CHF to advance the health of all dogs through carefully considered scientific research fits well with DCAF goals, and we anticipate our mutually beneficial partnership will continue to result in better health for Dalmatians and all dogs.”

CHF’s Endowment Fund offers secure sources of revenue for future needs and sustainability. Endowed funds provide organizational support, which can include grants administration, technology tools, staff training and outreach, educational materials, and more. Individuals and organizations that wish to support CHF’s Endowment Fund should visit www.akcchf.org/endowment for more information.
