Miniature American Shepherd “Jimmy” Wins Best in Show at 2016 AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals

Orlando, FL (Dec. 17, 2016) – The AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS) Finals Best in Show honors went to GCH CH Love That Jimmy Fallon CM, a Miniature American Shepherd known affectionately as “Jimmy” owned and handled by Jeanie Troyan McAdams & Dr. Douglas McAdams. The 2016 NOHS Finals Best in Show winner was crowned by judge Mrs. Paula Nykiel after intense canine competition.

“The AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals celebrates the skill and dedication of the owner-handler and we congratulate all the dogs that topped the NOHS rankings for 2016,” said Bri Tesarz, Manager, Dog Show Rules & Programs. “We’re happy to have welcomed so many quality dogs to this year’s event and congratulations to our winner!”

The top ten owner-handled dogs (plus ties) in each breed from the 2016 qualifying years were invited to compete in the Finals, and the 711 competitors entered represented 192 different breeds/varieties.

Group Winners

After winning their Best of Breed competitions, the following top dogs went on to win in their respective groups and compete for AKC National Owner-Handled Series Best in Show:

Sporting: GCHS CH Dezertfyre’s Captain’s First Mate CDX RA JH OA AXJ NF RATN CGCA, a Vizsla known “Riker” owned by Carla Slabaugh & Ron Slabaugh.

Hound: GCH CH Kininvie D’Lux JC CGC, a Scottish Deerhound known “Vinnie” owned by Eric F.M. Winter & Karen R. Winter.

Working: GCHB CH Kudla’s Hubba Hubba Bubba From Pebbles’ Run, a Samoyed known “Boka” owned by Heather & Peter Hubbard.

Terrier: CH Kyleakin Grand Slam, a Cairn Terrier owned by Letisha K. Wubbel & Carol A. Wubbel.

Toy: CH Tenoaks N Kapers One Note Samba, a Brussels Griffon known “Bullet” owned by Raul Peralta & Rhonda Vandermer.

Non-Sporting: GCHG CH Daimler’s Caviar Dreams, a Keeshond known “Parker” owned by Terry & Diane Benz.

Herding: GCH CH Love That Jimmy Fallon CM, a Miniature American Shepherd known “Jimmy” owned by Jeanie Troyan McAdams & Dr. Douglas McAdams.
