Up Close with Nicolas Pineiro

The AKC Eukanuba National Championship is not only one of America’s premier events but also attracts top breeders and handlers from around the world.  One of special note is Nicolas Pineiro, who has travelled from Moscow, Russia to attend this year. Nicolas is the show manager and exclusive handler for the Gran Vencedor Kennel in Russia, owned by Andrey Klishas. Andrey’s dogs are well known throughout the world. Under Nicolas guidance they have 28 World winners and 16 European winners. Andrey has bred or owned two Breed winners at the AKC Eukanuba show in Miniature Bull Terriers and Basenjis. Nicolas manages the breeding program for Mr. Klishas that include Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, Miniature Bull Terriers, Wirehaired Dachshunds, Basenjis, French Bulldogs and Bozois. The dogs are shown by Nicolas throughout the world in Asia, Europe, North and South America.

Nicolas comes to Russia via Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started showing dogs at the early age of 7. He had a very successful Junior Handling career He was Best Junior at the World Dog Show in Brazil and Runner Up at Crufts. Nicolas was selected to judge the Junior Handling competition at the World Dog Show in 2010 that was held in Denmark. Nicolas actively breeds Basenjis and has enjoyed many successes in that ring. His most memorable win was going Best in Show at the International Dog Show in Milan, Italy over an entry of 3000+ dogs.

The Gran Vencedor kennel has very impressive wins to their credentials. Their very first show dog, Sennenhund Rossi Akella, a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is a Champion in over 40 countries. He is a four time world winner as well as the Best Veteran In Show at the World Dog Show this year. Another noted accomplishment is that they own the only French Bulldog to win and place in a group in Europe, winning the group at an entry of 15,000 dogs in Budapest.

Mr. Klishas has an impressive list of accomplishments as breeder, judge and officer since his start in the world of pure bred dogs Andrey Klishas is not only a breeder and owner of successful show dogs but a very esteemed dog show judge as well. He is judging at the AKC Eukanuba National Championship this weekend. He will be judging Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Bull Terriers and Miniature Bull Terriers. He holds the office of President for the Russian Hunting Dog Federation.

Under Nicolas’ guidance, the Gran Vencedor dogs are in great hands. His talents and success as a handler at international dog shows are too numerous to list. Nicolas is truly passionate about the dogs that he shows and manages for Andrey Klishas. They will be a formidable team at international dog shows for years to come throughout the world.
