Remembering Zane Smith
It is with great sadness we share the loss of Staffordshire Bull Terrier breeder Zane Smith.
Zane was involved in breeding Bullseye Staffordshire Bull Terriers for 50 years after owning a Bulldog and Keeshond as a young man. He became involved with the Staffordshire Bull Terrier the year the AKC granted full recognition to the breed in America, and he owned several Best In Show winners.
Zane was approved by the AKC to judge Staffordshire Bull Terriers in 1985 at the age of 22, and later approved to judge 8 breeds in the Terrier group. He also judged Championship shows throughout the world including England, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Finland, Hungary, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Italy and France.
Zane’s friends remember him as great dog person and wonderful friend. The Canine Chronicle extends our deepest condolences to Zane’s family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
