National Purebred Dog Day Website Fundraiser
National Purebred Dog Day was created a year ago upon the discovery that no day of recognition exists for purebred dogs even though National Dog Day, National Rescue Day, National Mutt Day, and even National Poop Scoop Day do.
A resolution asking that May 1st be recognized as National Purebred Dog Day was submitted to the Minority Whip of the State of Colorado Senate a few months ago and has an excellent chance of passing this spring. The day would honor the contributions of purebred dogs created to work alongside man as they provide inestimable companionship.
For now, National Purebred Dog Day is represented through a Facebook page of over 35, 600 fans who celebrates the diversity, heritage and predictability of purebred dogs through education and engagement. Recently, a Kickstarter fundraising effort was begun to fund an official website for National Purebred Dog Day. The two minute video “borrowed” some vulnerable breeds to launch the campaign and explain why National Purebred Dog Day is need.
