Fondly Remembering Carma Ewer – Carmel Miniature Schnauzers
It is with sadness we report the passing of Carma Ewer today after battling brain cancer.
Carma and her husband, Galen, bred Miniature Schnauzers for over 50 years under the ‘Carmel’ prefix. She was also a past-President of the American Miniature Schnauzer Club as well a current board member.
Carmel Miniature Schnauzers are renowned for their excellence having won over 50 all-breed Best in Shows. They are the breeders of “Twink,” GCHP Carmel Sky High Wish Upon A Star, which is the top-winning Miniature Schnauzer in AKC history.
Carma was also the show chair of the Bonneville Basin Kennel Association, and her husband, Galen, is an officer of Group IV Terrier Club of Salt Lake, Inc. They were well-known for their efforts on behalf of both clubs. They were also happy to give back to the sport by mentoring those who desired to learn about their breed and the sport of pure breed dogs.
Susie Olivera said, “She was the greatest person we’ve ever known & her contribution not only to Miniature Schnauzers, but to us and everyone who’s ever been blessed to know her is unrivaled. She will be deeply missed by all.”
Carma will be missed by all who knew her. Her contributions to the sport will live on and keep her in our memories for years to come. Our condolences to her husband, Galen, her family and those close to her.
