Crufts Supreme Champion, Ch Jafrak Philippe Olivier has died at age 12.
Phil was bred by Jack and Frances Krall of the world-famous Jafrak Kennel and owned by Kevin and Sandie Cullen.
On Phil’s debut, he won Best Puppy in Show at a breed show, and claimed the Reserve CC three times during his puppy career. Phil won his first CC with Best of Breed and Best in Show at the Parent Club Championship Show. His first group win came at the age of 16 months at Bournemouth 2002 under Margaret Everton. With his handler Kevin, Ch Jafrak Philippe Olivier went on to win 41 CCs, 14 Best in Shows, 31 Groups and in 2003 he became the UK’s Top Dog All Breeds. He is also the UK Breed Record Holder and the UK’s most successful winning Giant Schnauzer to date.
It was in 2008 where he won Best in Show at Crufts under Clare Coxall, the breed and group judges at Crufts had previously awarded him a group already, so this was to be his year, and his lucky show. Crufts Best of Breed in 2004, 2005, 2007 & 2008, Working Group 1 at Crufts in 2004, 2005, and 2008, and in 2007 he won Group 2, and finally Best in Show at Crufts in 2008 where he then took a well-deserved retirement. Also a proven sire, Phil produced a number of Champions, including the UK group winning male, Ch. Riesenheim Suited N Booted for Daleiden.
Kevin and Sandie Cullen, Phil’s owners, wrote, ‘We have been very lucky to own him and words cannot describe how much we will miss him, he’s irreplaceable’. Phil’s breeders Jack and Frances Krall wrote, ‘We are incredibly proud to have bred Ch Jafrak Philippe Olivier, he was a dog who lead Giants to the fore. He was a very popular dog throughout the world who was admired by many people in other breeds. He will be sadly missed’
