Adopting a Fraud: Pet Owner Discovers Her Own Dog For Sale

(KUTV) Toby is an 11-year-old pug who has lived his entire life in San Francisco with his loving owner, Lisa Sheeran. Proud of her purebred pup, Lisa takes lots of pictures and posts them online.

A few weeks ago, Lisa says she was shocked to discover that one of her photos was being used on the website for a Utah company called Azure’s Safe Haven, LLC. The company claims to be a small-breed dog rescue. The photo is unmistakably Lisa’s; it shows Toby standing in his own backyard. But azuresafehaven.com shows the photo beneath the name, Summers.

Worse, on its website, Azure’s Safe Haven says Summers is a female dog with “hip dysplasia” who “will need (an expensive) surgery on both her hind legs.”
