Upcoming Webinar to Inform Pet Parents About a Common, Deadly Canine Cancer
Hemangiosarcoma is one of the deadliest forms of cancer in dogs. Many pet owners are unaware of the disease, which can grow and spread rapidly – often catching dog owners off guard. A new webinar by Morris Animal Foundation in collaboration with TEDxMileHigh aims to educate owners on what they need to know about this devastating cancer.

Dr. Kelly Diehl, Senior Director of Science Communications at the Foundation, will sit down with Dr. Antonella Borgatti, Professor of Oncology at the University of Minnesota, to talk about clinical signs, treatment options and new research findings that could change the odds for dogs suffering from this cancer.
Hemangiosarcoma is believed to arise from bone marrow cells destined to become blood vessels. The tumor tends to grow in organs with a rich blood supply, such as the spleen and heart, and can rupture suddenly, causing massive blood loss. Even with prompt and aggressive treatment, cures are extremely rare, and 90% of dogs succumb to the disease within one year.
The event will include a Q&A forum at the end of the webinar. To submit your questions in advance, email general@tedxmilehigh.com.
