North Carolina: Join AKC GR at Tarheel Shows to Learn About Being a United Voice for Dogs!

As responsible dog owners and exhibitors, we do so much for our dogs.  Training, veterinary care, grooming – the list goes on.  One of the best things we can do is work together as club members, breeders, and handlers throughout the state to be a united federation in support of our dogs and our sport.

AKC Government Relations is hosting an informational meeting and discussion at the Tarheel Cluster dog shows on Saturday, September 2, to help you learn how we can work together to build a strong state federation in North Carolina:

Saturday, September 2, 2023
1:00-2:00 pm
Judges Lunchroom,  Jim Graham Building, NC State Fairgrounds
RSVP is appreciated: jennifer.clark@akc.org

What’s a Federation?

State federations unify dog owners and clubs to work together –and with AKC – to educate & advocate to public and policymakers about the value of clubs and responsible dog owners,  and stop legislation that harms dog owners.

What are the Benefits?

  • Reduce outreach work for individual clubs
  • Offer educational programs for dog lovers
  • Share your love of the breeds with their communities
  • Organize fun activities like matches and other events
  • Make a difference and meet new friends!

AKC GR encourages every club and interested individual to participate in rebuilding a NC Federation. Non- NC residents are welcome to join to learn more about federations in their state.

Not in North Carolina but interested in getting involved?  You’re welcome to join this meeting to learn more or contact AKC Government Relations at doglaw@akc.org to get connected with other federations or clubs in your state.
