Once a year, my wife and I go to a show simply to watch the dogs and share time with friends and colleagues. This time, my wife suggested that I should concentrate my attention on the judging. While sitting ringside, I had some random thoughts. Those thoughts were uncolored by my entries, because there were none that day.
if I were a judge…
I would not be influenced by any factors other than the relative strengths and weaknesses of the dogs entered under me.
I would not fall into the trap of fault judging, nor would I judge by comparing one dog to another, but by the standard instead.
I would place the dogs as I believe they should be placed that day without regard to their previous wins.
I would never be caught watching dogs in another ring as long as I have a dog in mine.
