Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club Cancels 2013 Show
An announcement from Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club Vice President, Dean Langwiser, outlines the reasons behind the cancellation of the 2013 Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club show dates. Langwiser explains that the Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club’s previous show location, Gahr High School grounds, have increased their fee for holding the show on their grounds, from $7500 to $9,000. The club felt as though this fee increase was unacceptable, especially because the show has not been especially profitable at these grounds.
Emergency meetings were held to find an appropriate location for the 2013 shows. Several locations were contacted, however the most reasonable location, the Orange County Fairgrounds, was not available for 2013.
After a vote, it was decided that the Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club shows are cancelled for 2013.
The hotel and dining facilities have agreed to refund payments to the club. The judges have agreed to accept judging assignments for the next show held. The club is looking into options to make their next show profitable, such as adding agility or clustering with another club. The club is looking forward to restoring the success and profits of previous Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club shows.
