Remembering Sheila Balch

We received the sad news that longtime judge and Alaskan Malamute breeder, Mrs. Sheila Balch passed away this past weekend.

Mrs. Balch was an AKC Judge of the Working Group, several Herding Breeds, as well as Best in Show. She judged several National Specialties and her judging assignments took her all over the world.

She enjoyed great success as a breeder, owner, handler of Best in Show and National Specialty winning Alaskan Malamutes. She was a lifetime member of the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. She was also a historian of the Alaskan Malamute breed.

The Canine Chronicle would like to express our sincere condolences to Sheila’s family and friends during this time.
