Remembering Dr. J Donald Jones
It is with great sadness and regret that we report the passing of Dr. J Donald Jones of Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Jones was a popular and respected judge of all Sporting, Hound, Working, and Herding breeds for decades.
Dr. Jones’ original breeds were Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherd Dogs, Miniature Pinschers, Schipperkes and Pembroke Welsh Corgis. He was proud to have owned a Best in Show winning Corgi and one of the top winning Schipperkes in breed history. Professionally, he was a counseling psychologist, then Dean at the Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
As a judge, Dr. Jones traveled all over the world judging. He judged at a variety of prestigious venues, including judging Best in Show at the 2008 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show where he awarded BIS to the great Beagle, Uno. He was a favorite among exhibitors.
The Canine Chronicle extends our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Jones many family and friends during this difficult time. He will be sorely missed.
