Remembering Dorothy Welsh
It is with great sadness and regret that we report the recent passing of Mrs. Dorothy Welsh of Neillsville, Wisconsin. Mrs. Welsh was a longtime respected judge of all Hound, Working, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding breeds, as well as Best in Show.
Mrs. Welsh dedicated her life to the sport of purebred dogs. Before starting her judging career in 1969, she was an avid breeder and fancier of Collies, Shetland Sheepdogs, and Poodles. She judged all over the world, including at some of the most prestigious shows in the United States. She judged Best in Show at Westminster Kennel Club in 1991.
Mrs. Welsh also dedicated much time to various dog clubs and organizations. She was a longtime AKC delegate, member of the Chicago Collie Club, Collie Club of America, and Wheaton Kennel Club. She was also very involved in the AKC Museum of The Dog.
The Canine Chronicle extends sincere condolences to all of Dorothy Welsh’s family and friends during this time. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
