Remembering Chuck Winslow
It is with great regret that we report the passing of Chuck Winslow of Monrovia, Maryland. Mr. Winslow was a respected judge of all Working, Toy, and Non-Sporting breeds, as well as Best in Show.
Chuck was one of the most steadfast and enthusiastic supporters of the sport of purebred dogs. He began his longtime involvement in the sport as an assistant to the late Mrs. William Kendrick. He then went on to breed many outstanding Brussels Griffons before finding his niche as an AKC judge. He judged all over the world, including at some of the most prestigious shows in the United States. He was scheduled to judge the Toy Group at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship this year, and several breeds at Westminster Kennel Club next year.
Many will remember Chuck for his colorful dress, speech and personality. Others will remember him for his quick wit, caring heart, and ability to make those around him laugh. We will all remember Chuck as a loyal friend and fierce advocate of purebred dogs.
The sport is a bit duller after losing one of it’s true characters. He will be sorely missed.
