Pets can now send a text message to their owners when they’re too hot or cold thanks to AnimAlarm from the UK.

Following its success in the UK, the first portable temperature alarm with cellphone technology for pets is launching in the US.

With more than 35 per cent of children aged 10-11 owning a cellphone, it’s only natural that pets should have access to better communication too. Thanks to AnimAlarm, pets are now being brought into line with the rest of the family.

As pets can’t tell you when they’re uncomfortable, AnimAlarm lets you know via text message when they’re too hot or cold. When the temperature reaches either an upper or lower limit the device automatically sends an alert so you can quickly cool your pet down with a wet t-shirt or warm them up with a cozy coat. You can also call or send a text to the device at any time to get a current reading.

AnimAlarm is great for vacations because, as well as being able to monitor your pet’s temperature while travelling, you can also use it in your hotel room, motorhome, boat or trailer, which may not have sufficient air conditioning. It’s invaluable at home too if you ever leave your pets in sunny room that might get hotter than you realize, or if you have young, elderly or flat-faced dogs who do not cope well when things heat up.

AnimAlarm is compatible with all cellphones and no contract is necessary. It features solar powered charging, up to 30 days battery life (on eco mode), car and USB charging options, low battery warning text alerts and both Celsius or Fahrenheit options.

AnimAlarm is available from or can be ordered online at www.AnimAlarm.co.uk.
