Nestle Purina Files Lawsuit Claiming Blue Buffalo is Misleading Consumers
Yesterday Fox News reported that Nestle Purina PetCare has filed a lawsuit against Blue Buffalo dog food. The basis of this lawsuit is an allegation that Blue Buffalo has misled consumers in regard to its advertisements for a healthy dog food. Many of their advertisements state that Blue Buffalo dog foods use only the finest natural ingredients.
Purina goes on to allege that Blue Buffalo repeatedly states that its products contain absolutely no Chicken/Poultry By-Product meals, while laboratory results show that some of their dog foods contain significant percentages of poultry by-product meal. Purina also claims that laboratory results show that corn was found in Blue Buffalo products.
The Nestle Purina Petcare Company vs. Blue Buffalo Company Ltd. was filed in the U.S district court for the Eastern District of St Louis, Missouri.
