Meet The Three New Breeds That Will Make Their Debut In The 141st Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
In advance of the 141st Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the three new breeds that are eligible to compete will be introduced at Madison Square Garden on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:00AM. The three breeds will compete for the first time at the World’s Most Famous Arena during the annual competition, which will take place on Monday, February 13 and Tuesday, February 14, 2017. The three new breeds are:
- the American Hairless Terrier
- the Pumi
- the Sloughi
Following the introduction of the three new breeds, several competitors representing the 2017 Masters Agility Championship will participate in an Agility demonstration. Additionally, a Puli from the Herding group, a French Bulldog from the Non-Sporting group and a Bengal cat will be onsite representing the AKC Meet the Breeds® event. The AKC Meet the Breeds® event and the Masters Agility Championship are part of the “Meet and Compete” event, which will be held on Saturday, February 11 at Piers 92/94. This year The International Cat Association (TICA) has joined with the American Kennel Club to host this family friendly event.
The Westminster Kennel Club is America’s oldest organization dedicated to the sport of purebred dogs. On Monday and Tuesday, February 13-14, The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show returns to Madison Square Garden for its 141st consecutive year.
