May 6, 2021 Update: Final COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan for Westminster Weekend

The Westminster Kennel Club remains steadfast in our commitment to provide a safe and pleasant environment for all who will attend our 145th consecutive annual dog show. For the compliance requirements related to COVID-19 protocol, the careful planning and attention to detail that has always been a Westminster tradition have been our compass. Consistent with the Club’s premium list, Westminster’s initial requirements were and continue to be New York State requirements for an outdoor event, with the caveat that as conditions and/or requirements evolved, they would be “finalized and communicated in advance and during the show.” The Club will continue to monitor the conditions and requirements of the State officials, as is our agreement in obtaining permission to host the event in New York.

Following a series of discussions this week with State health officials and our COVID-19 compliance consultants, we can report an additional option for those attending without a vaccination. Attendees will have the option of presenting laboratory-based COVID-19 PCR tests collected within 72 hours of your first day of entry to the events. Tests administered from the following national test providers will be accepted:

  • Curative
  • CVS
  • Rite Aid
  • Walgreens

These four national providers meet the requirements for laboratory-based COVID-19 PCR tests at thousands of locations across the country. Kindly remember that these tests must be laboratory-based PCR tests, and turnaround times for results may vary based on region and community.

New York State requires collection of COVID-19 tests occur within 72 hours of your first day of entry to the event. If you are unable to receive your test results back prior to your day of entry, you will need to have a second test available at one of the three Tarrytown hotels. There, Reel Health will be able to collect COVID-19 tests the day before your first day at the event, with results available by 6:00 am the following day. Please visit Information for Westminster Kennel Club Event Attendees to learn more about testing through Reel Health.

In order to avoid excessive delays on the days of the Show, all vaccination and testing credentials (regardless of administration) should be submitted through the Reel Health Entry Form for Vaccination Submission and Scheduling Tests – WKC June 2021 for verification prior to entrance to Lyndhurst.
