German Wirehaired Pointer Wins Best in Show at 2015 AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals
The AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS) Finals Best in Show honors went to GCH Ripsnorter Reigning At Thunder Myst, a German Wirehaired Pointer known affectionately as “Reggie” owned by Steve & Betsy Bernock and Lisa George. The 2015 NOHS Finals Best in Show winner was crowned by judge Mrs. Murrel Purkhiser after a day of intense canine competition.
“The AKC National Owner-Handled Series Finals celebrates the skill and dedication of the owner-handler and we congratulate all the dogs that topped the NOHS rankings for 2015,” said Bri Tesarz, Manager, Dog Show Rules & Programs. “We’re happy to have welcomed so many quality dogs to this year’s event and congratulations to our winner!”
The top ten owner-handled dogs (plus ties) in each breed from the 2015 qualifying year were invited to compete in the Finals, and the 677 competitors entered represented 159 different breeds.
Reserve Best in Show and Group Winners
Reserve Best in Show: GCH Posey Canyon Classic Stun Gun, a Parson Russell Terrier known as “Taser” owned by Tricia Stanczyk and Jennifer Johnston of Garland, Nebraska.
After winning their Best of Breed competitions, the following top dogs went on to win in their respective groups and compete for AKC National Owner-Handled Series Best in Show:
Sporting: GCH Ripsnorter Reigning At Thunder Myst, a German Wirehaired Pointer known as “Reggie” owned by Steve & Betsy Bernock and Lisa George of Fenton, Michigan.
Hound: GCH Baha Persian Of Interest CD RN SC OA MXJ NF, a Saluki known as “Pepe” owned by Dr. Caroline Coile of Live Oak, Florida.
Working: GCH Lowdown Remys Girl V Ardenhout, a Giant Schnauzer known as “Abbey” owned by Linda Low, Lisa Hawes and Janine Starink of Tsawwassen, BC, Canada.
Terrier: GCH Posey Canyon Classic Stun Gun, a Parson Russell Terrier known as “Taser” owned by Tricia Stanczyk and Jennifer Johnston of Garland, Nebraska.
Toy: GCH We-Syng Red Bud Maripaul, a Japanese Chin known as “Bud” owned by Mary L. Swick, Jean Welsh and Nanette L. Wright of Delaware, Ohio.
Non-Sporting: GCH Lakeridge Atalanta Summer In Paris, a Standard Poodle known as “Paris” owned by Lindsay Gorder of Renton, Washington.
Herding: GCH Bowmaker Red White & Blue CGCA, a Puli known as “Blu” owned by Glen VanDerHart and Leslie Stallings of Arrington, Tennessee.
