Bryan Martin Hired as Executive Field Representative
The American Kennel Club is pleased to announce that Bryan Martin has been hired as an Executive Field Representative. He will join the staff on April 15, 2013 and will be based in the Portland, Oregon area.
“Bryan brings a broad base of knowledge to the position of Executive Field Representative, with many successful years in the sport as an exhibitor, professional handler, club member and superintendent,” said Patricia Proctor, AKC Senior Executive Field Representative. “The American Kennel Club is proud to welcome him to the staff.”
Martin has 50 years of experience exhibiting dogs, beginning with Basset Hounds in 1962. He worked as a Superintendent Assistant for Webb Dog Shows and began handling professionally in 1983. Bryan and his wife Nancy are members of the AKC Registered Handlers program and he has served as a regional representative since 2009.
Martin has judged AKC Junior Showmanship and has held positions in several clubs, most recently on the Board of Directors of the American Polish Lowland Sheepdog Club.
In addition to his work in dogs, he has also worked as a licensed “R” Steward for the American Horse Shows Association and owner of a horse show management company. He received a BA in Journalism and Advertising/Public Relations from Iowa State University.
