Applications for the Merck Animal Health Veterinary Student Scholarship Program are now being accepted through Dec. 31. Merck Animal Health is partnering with the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) to provide $185,000 in scholarship dollars to outstanding second and third-year veterinary students around the globe. Scholarships will be awarded to students from the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America and Southeast Asia.
“At Merck Animal Health, we’re proud to support and invest in those who are so crucial to the future of our industry,” said Scott Bormann, Vice President, North America, Merck Animal Health. “Through this program, we are reinforcing our long-standing commitment to education, personal development and the science of healthier animals. It also allows us to help support the cost of veterinary education, as well as recognize and celebrate the next generation of leaders.”
As the charitable arm of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the AVMF is committed to providing opportunities that foster academic success of veterinary students.
“The impact of the Merck Animal Health Veterinary School Scholarship program goes far beyond the individual lives of 34 remarkable veterinary student recipients,” said Dr. John Brooks, chair of the AVMF Board of Directors. “Ensuring that the best and the brightest veterinary students are able to continue their education today provides for the future health and welfare of animals and people around the world tomorrow.”
