AKC Announces Staff Promotions and Appointments

New York, N.Y. – The American Kennel Club (AKC®), the world’s largest dog registry and leading industry authority and advocate for dogs, is pleased to announce the promotions and appointments of several of its employees.

Mark Dunn has been appointed Senior Vice President of Registration and Customer Development which encompasses Registration Development, Registration Services, Breeder Relations, AKC’s Customer Service Call Center, and AKC’s DNA Operations.

Sheila Goffe has been appointed Vice President, Government Relations. She oversees AKC  legislative policy strategy and AKC outreach at the federal, state and local levels, works with legislators, legislative staff and regulators on key issues in canine policy, and supervises the AKC Government Relations team.

Brandi Hunter has been appointed Vice President, Public Relations and Communications. In her role, she oversees all internal and external media relations, as well strategic and crisis communication and spearheads media campaigns tied to AKC initiatives and events and supervises the Communications team.

In the Legal Department, Heather McManus has been promoted to Deputy General Counsel of the AKC and Cynthia Beagles has been promoted to Assistant General Counsel.

In the Marketing Department, Elie Orgel has been promoted to Director of Audience Acquisition and Development. He will be responsible for managing content and audience development for our digital channels. Steve Pessah has been promoted to Sr. Manager of Product Development and will be overseeing Product Development and Elihn Glass has been promoted to Sr, Manager of E-Commerce and will be leading our E-Commerce initiative.

In the Publications Department, there are several new promotions. Russell Bianca has been promoted to Director, AKC Publications, Liz Donovan has been named Managing Editor of Family Dog Magazine and Bud Boccone has been named Managing Editor of The Gazette.

“We have seen a lot of exciting advancements from our staff in the past year,” said Dennis Sprung, President and CEO of The AKC. “The appointments and promotions for these employees are well deserved and I look forward to seeing even greater achievements from the entire team in the coming year.”
