2015 Morris & Essex Kennel Club Judging Changes Announced
SOMERSET, NJ, July 7, 2015 – With deep regret over the recent passing of beloved, and its esteemed intended, Best in Show Judge Jane Kamp Forsyth, Morris & Essex Kennel Club President Wayne Ferguson expressed his own and the club’s heartfelt condolences.
“Janey was to have judged Best in Show at the upcoming 2015 Morris & Essex Show set for October 1 and we will strive to have this show be one she would be most proud of as we know she will be looking on. I will personally miss her after more than 50 years of friendship,” Mr. Ferguson stated in a message released on the club website www.morrisandessexkennelclub.org
Today, Mr. Ferguson announced that “with the passing of our beloved Jane, the following judging changes will take place:
- Best in Show – Dorothy Collier
- Herding Group – Linda More
- Border Collies and Entlebucher Mountain Dogs – James Moses
- Pulik and Canaan Dogs – Joyce Vanek
- Spanish Water Dogs – Chuck Trotter”
120 breeds will be holding specialties and supported entries at the 2015 show, on Thursday, October 1, on the grounds of Colonial Park, in Franklin Township, NJ.
The next Morris & Essex Kennel Club show features a total of 78 AKC judges.
Group judges are as follows: Sporting Group: Karen Wilson, Hound Group: Patricia Trotter, Working Group: Klaus Anselm, Terrier Group: Desmond Murphy, Toy Group: Peter Green, Non-Sporting: Johnny Shoemaker, Herding Group: Linda More, and Miscellaneous Breeds & Group: Randy Garren
On October 1, 2015, the large tents, in fact, ¼ of a mile of tenting with orange and blue club banners waving, 27 rings, elaborate silver trophy tent display, Juried Fine Art Show of canine paintings, and an air of elegance, nostalgia, hospitality and tradition – including exhibitors and spectators dressed in vintage garb and hats reminiscent of the 1920’s-1950’s- will reign once again in Colonial Park recalling “The Exhibitors Show” that Mrs. Dodge provided to the fancy for nearly 30 years. Well over 4,000 dogs are expected to once again compete for the coveted Morris & Essex Kennel Club Best in Show title.
“Again, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Jane’s husband Robert, daughter Sioux Forsyth-Green. and all her loving family members,” Mr. Ferguson added.
