AKC Applauds Susi Szeremy’s Hard Work in Bringing National Purebred Dog Day to Life

New York – The American Kennel Club (AKC®) recognizes the diligent efforts of Colorado fancier Susi Szeremy in bringing National Purebred Dog Day to the forefront of the social media conversation and celebrating the heritage, purpose, and predictability of purebred dogs.

“We applaud Susi’s leadership on the Purebred Dog Day initiative.  This special day reminds us of our special bond with these purpose-bred dogs with predictable characteristics, and it’s an inspiration for all dog lovers,” said Dennis Sprung, AKC President and CEO.  “We’re looking forward to a bright future for Purebred Dog Days throughout the country and a renewed spirit of recognition and pride of purebred dogs.”

Created by Szeremy in 2013 with a Facebook page that quickly grew, National Purebred Dog Day’s mission is to increase awareness and celebrate all of the ways purebred dogs better our lives.  From herders, guardians, and hunters to search and rescue, police K-9s, and guide dogs, this day honors purpose-bred dogs and the predictability of breeds.
