Diana Wilson and Guy Fisher Hired as AKC Executive Field Representatives
New York, NY – The American Kennel Club is pleased to announce that Diana Wilson and Guy Fisher have been hired as AKC Executive Field Representatives. Wilson will join the staff May 5, 2014 in the Denver, Colorado area, while Fisher will join the staff on June 2, 2014, working out of the AKC office in the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
“Both Guy and Diana have significant backgrounds in the sport and we’re lucky that they’ll be bringing their extensive show experience to their new positions as Executive Field Representatives,” said Patricia Proctor, AKC Senior Executive Field Representative. “We welcome them both to the AKC staff.”
Diana Wilson, from Brighton, Colorado, is a second-generation dog person who has been involved in breeding and handling her family’s Dalmatians since the early 1970s. She has bred more than 50 champions. Wilson worked for professional handlers for ten years before handling professionally herself for 15 years. During her handling career, she won more than 60 Best in Shows on various breeds in multiple groups and won seven National Specialties with four different breeds. She has finished dogs from all seven groups. Wilson holds a degree in Accounting from Arapahoe Community College.
Guy Fisher, who will move with his family from Michigan to the Raleigh area, is also a second-generation dog person who started showing dogs at the age of nine. He has bred more than 100 Boxer champions and is an AKC Breeder of Merit program participant. He has handled numerous dogs from all seven groups to multiple All-Breed Best in Shows and has won multiple specialty Best in Shows with several breeds. Fisher has been part of the AKC Registered Handlers Program (RHP) since its inception and is also certified by the Professional Handlers Association (PHA) and Dog Handlers Guild (DHG). He is an approved AKC Junior Showmanship judge.
Fisher has held various officer positions in the Macomb Kennel Club (founding member) and the St. Clair Kennel Club and is a member of the American Boxer Club, Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America, Great Dane Club of Michigan and the Michigan Association of Purebred Dogs. In 1999, he took over his family’s boarding kennel business, which was established in 1976.
